Marian Pyron Pottery

Since crafting my first stained glass window in 1977 during my time in the United States Air Force stationed in San Antonio, TX, art has been my constant companion. Though my military duties didn't always allow for creative pursuits, around 2001, I finally had the chance to dive into learning more. Online classes became my gateway to mastering various techniques, leading me to discover the captivating world of glass fusing. With kilns now part of my toolkit, I expanded into pottery, finding joy in both wheel throwing and hand-building. I live in South-East Tennessee with my husband, two dogs, and a cat. While pottery takes center stage, I still weave the magic of stained glass into my work, alongside crafting delicate glass jewelry and vibrant glass flowers. Each piece I create reflects my reverence for the beauty of the natural world, a constant source of wonder and creativity.

Jennifer Nash Crochet Items

From the tender age of five, my journey into the world of crochet began. Inspired by the  hands of my grandmother and mother, who themselves were adept in the art, I found myself entranced by the interplay of yarn and hook. With each loop and stitch, I discovered a world where creativity knew no bounds. Starting with simple chains, I soon delved into the intricate world of patterns and stitches, guided by the patient teachings of my elders. What began as a familial tradition soon became an intrinsic part of my being, woven into my very DNA.

The sensation of yarn slipping through my fingers, the rhythmic dance of the hook—these became my sanctuary, a place where the stresses of the world melted away in the embrace of creativity. With each creation, from delicate doilies to cozy blankets, I found solace in the endless possibilities that crochet offered. It wasn't just a craft; it was a form of meditation, a way to connect with both myself and the world around me.

Today, as I share my creations with the world, I carry with me the legacy of generations past, each stitch a testament to the love and skill passed down through the years. From the humble beginnings of a single skein of yarn to the boundless expanse of design possibilities, crochet has been my constant companion—a journey of self-discovery, creativity, and, above all, joy.

Jennifer Cox Pinker Watercolor Acrylic Artist

Jennifer Cox Pinker is a watercolor and acrylic artist originally from Athens, TN. I currently call Knoxville home with my husband, Greg and two boys Jack and Luke. I began this art journey as an elementary school student at City Park Elementary in Letha Allen's class. However I took a long hiatus in helping professions before embarking professionally as an artist in 2020. I began creating art highlighting different cities in our region and expanded to prints, t shirts, ornaments and other merchandise along the way. I love to share accessible art that celebrates places that you love. Creating art is a therapeutic process for me as I walk the challenges in this life. The more I experience the deep joy and deep grief in different seasons as I age, the more I find painting is a way to help shepherd myself and others in the midst. Sometimes that looks like capturing important memories that mark our stories through illustrating homes and buildings and creating community collages. Other times , it looks like exploring the wisdom of God and what HE is teaching me through abstract painting. There is a both/and in the human experience. We are challenged to remember the past , to grow in the present, and to move forward in Hope. We all need a little encouragement in all of those along the way, and my intention is to help you mark the path with works of art and the wisdom that goes along with them.

Scottie Mayfield Woodworking

Embarking on a journey of craftsmanship half a century ago, my love affair with woodworking blossomed amidst the rustic charm of repurposed barn wood, crafting picture frames that whispered tales of the past. As each stroke of my hand unveiled the latent beauty within timber, a profound sense of fulfillment ignited, propelling me into a lifelong exploration of this timeless art. Venturing beyond the confines of frames, my hands have fashioned an eclectic array of furniture pieces, each bearing the imprint of dedication and passion. From delicately turned bowls to whimsical birdhouses born from the remnants of scrap wood, my repertoire expanded, weaving together functionality with artistry. Through the years, I've carved benches, fashioned cutting boards, and assembled charcuterie boards, each creation a testament to my reverence for the inherent elegance of wood. Yet, my artistic evolution didn't cease there; it evolved into sculpting intricate mushroom clusters and crafting enchanting Christmas trees, each piece a celebration of nature's bounty and the enduring allure of woodworking. In every creation, I strive to unveil the hidden splendor of wood, inviting others to revel in its timeless grace and charm.

Maria Melton Tactile Artist

Originally from Portsmouth, Virginia, I made the journey with Kenny to McMinn County in 1975, and ever since, Tennessee has been the place I proudly call home. My passion for sewing ignited at a tender age, first sparked by the allure of buttons nestled in my Mamaw's jars. Accompanying my Momma on trips to select fabrics for the garments she lovingly crafted for our family, I found myself entranced by the vibrant colors and intricate patterns. Armed with a threaded needle and leftover fabric morsels, I eagerly learned the art of stitching. The tactile allure of fabrics spoke to me on a profound level. Over the years, sewing evolved from a cherished pastime to a heartfelt tradition of creating and gifting. Eventually, I ventured into selling my creations, birthing my cottage industry, "Sew Cute." This endeavor has blossomed, affording me the joy of exploring diverse fabrics and crafting works of art straight from the depths of my heart. Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, I found solace and purpose in crafting over 2,500 masks, contributing to the welfare of our community and extending support across the nation. As a humble Tactile Artist from a small town, I am deeply honored to be featured in the esteemed Local Artists book at White Street Market. Grateful for the encouragement and opportunities that continue to fuel my passion, I find solace and fulfillment in the rhythmic hum of my sewing machine—it's not just what I do, it's who I am.

Tom Hamilton Woodworking

After many years in the wholesale grocery business and even more in real estate as an appraiser and manager of low-income and government-subsidized apartments, I embraced retirement in 2015. My passion for woodworking was reignited when my wife gifted me a lathe, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. With the guidance of a dear friend who is a seasoned woodturner and countless hours watching YouTube tutorials, I began crafting pieces that gradually moved from experimental to exceptional. I love experimenting with new techniques and materials, often combining different woods to create eye-catching segmented bowls, trays, and smaller items like salt cellars and jewelry trays. While I venture into various projects, I am always drawn back to bowl turning, which seems to be where my passion truly lies. My workshop is a creative chaos, and my bin of rejects is never empty, yet the time I spend there is incredibly fulfilling and rewarding. I think my wife appreciates having me out of the house too! Thanks to her and my friend's continual encouragement, my craft continues to evolve, filling our store with pieces that reflect the joy and fulfillment of my woodturning journey.
